Immigrant Practitioner Helpline
The Immigrant Practitioner Helpline (IPH) is an affordably priced technical support service connecting subscribers to immigration attorneys for on-the-spot information and problem solving.
The driving force behind the installment of IPH was to open wider the door of opportunity for churches and faith-based organizations to engage their communities as recognized organizations of The Department of Justice (DOJ) and provide legal support to low-income, at-risk immigrants. The DOJ requires that recognized organizations have “access to adequate knowledge, information, and experience in immigration law and procedure.” Generally immigration practitioners who have a background in immigration law will meet that requirement. However since most practitioners who practice at churches and organizations do not have a law degree in immigration law, it is recommended that they enter into an agreement with a person, entity, or network, such as the IPH, that can provide the necessary technical advice to the recognized organization.
